Do you have work stress or relationship problems?  Do you use stimulants like caffeine, or nicotine to get through the day?  Are you going through the menopause?  Does your partner snore or kick you all night?  If any of these sound familiar the chances are you are not sleeping well.   Poor sleep can result in low mood, poor concentration, memory impairment, lack of energy, increased appetite and relationship disharmony.   To function well, we need a balanced diet, exercise and good quality sleep. However, with today's hectic lifestyles, sleep often slips to the bottom of our priorities.  This can have profound consequences for our mental and physical health.  Research has also shown that by improving sleep, depression and pain are lessened.  In this event you will learn the simple things you can do to help yourself achieve a good night’s rest.

The Sleep Clinic is delivered by Dr Renata Riha and Donna Fairley of The Sleep Consultancy.

Dr Riha is a consultant in Sleep and Respiratory Medicine at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh and an Honorary Reader at the University of Edinburgh.  In 2006, Dr Riha established the Edinburgh Sleep Course.  She  has over 20 years of experience working in clinical sleep medicine and is passionate about research and teaching.

As a qualified sleep specialist nurse with 14 years’ experience in sleep medicine, Donna Fairley combines her working knowledge with the latest research and psychological therapies. Donna is also trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and is a member of The British Sleep Society and the British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies.

Entry to this event is on a first come, first serve basis. Please come early to avoid disappointment.
