cooking on a bootstrap
2pm, Saturday 26th January
Jack Monroe shows that cooking on a budget can be nourishing, delicious and above all healthy. Great cooking doesn’t need to be about fancy ingredients, and living on a tight budget shouldn’t stop you from enjoying incredible food. Jack is an award-winning cookery writer and anti-poverty campaigner. She wrote her first book A Girl Called Jack when she was 24 and had a food budget of just £10 a week to feed herself and her son. She created recipes for simple, cheap meals, gave them to a local food bank, and published them on her blog, A Girl Called Jack. She is now a well-known campaigner against hunger and poverty in the UK, a columnist for The Guardian, and winner of a Women of the Year Award. Jack’s latest book Cooking on a Bootstrap is published by Bluebird.
