cooking on a bootstrap
2pm, Saturday 26th January
Jack Monroe shows that cooking on a budget can be nourishing, delicious and above all healthy. Great cooking doesn’t need to be about fancy ingredients, and living on a tight budget shouldn’t stop you from enjoying incredible food. At the age of 24, a single parent with a young child with a budget of just £10 a week, Jack created recipes for simple, cheap meals, gave them to a local food bank, and published them on the blog, A Girl Called Jack. 100 of these recipes were then published in Jack’s book of the same name in 2014. Jack Monroe is now a well-known campaigner against hunger and poverty in the UK, a columnist for The Guardian, and winner of a Women of the Year Award.
Jack’s latest book Cooking on a Bootstrap is published by Bluebird. Jack will be signing copies after the event.
This event is included in our Saturday Afternoon and Weekend Headliner tickets.
